Chiang Mai, Thailand July 10, 2007 – Ben Youngblood, president of 1com.com, a telecom provider has announced his support for building a training center for disadvantaged Thai Youth and a meditation center for Westerners in Chiang Mai, Thailand. As part of his humanitarian core values and compassion for the less fortunate, Mr. Youngblood was greatly moved after seeing a need to help educate underprivileged Thai youth and to further advance the practice of Meditation for Westerners. Mr. Ben Youngblood who has long practiced meditation wants to give something back.

Buddha Foundation Meditation Retreat Center

The Buddha Foundation Meditation Retreat center will be a peaceful environment near the mountains in the cooler northern climate of Thailand in Chiang Mai, teachers will help with difficulties and freedom for one to choose the meditation technique that works best for him or her.

The Buddha Foundation Retreat Center will have minimal chanting or ceremonies as more time can be devoted to formal meditation practice.

Being under the powerful influence of globalization and capitalism and greed, most of human society has become ineffective and lacking peace. Morality and righteousness have deteriorated rapidly.
